Releasing Kelvin The Turtle

Kelvin The Turtle

Kiara and Emma came to our school from Kelly Tarltons to teach us about turtles. Then we got to watch Kelvin being released back into Rangiputa beach. It was so amazing. Kelvin swan away so fast he must of been excited.

Did You Know Facts
Aaron: did you know some turtles are extinct.
Erika: did you know if the weather is warmer we get more girl turtles but if the weather is colder we get more boy turtles.
Jason: did you know turtles are older than dinosaurs.
Emily: did you know that if a turtle has a long tail it is a boy.

  1. Hello Kea Whanau, We are Room 21 at Pt England School in Auckland. It is amazing that you know all those facts about sea turtles. We really like your pictures because they are very detailed. We learned that turtles shell are made out of the same thing as our finger nails. What did you like most about the turtle being released?
Thanks for sharing facts and teaching us about turtles.

  2. Hi Kea Whanau
We were so happy to read all about your learning about turtles. At the start of this year our class got to see and hold a live turtle at our school. He was a boy turtle and his name was Jack. We think it was a great idea to put Kelvin back into the sea.
